Six Month Later...

Last July, as many of you know, I had a scary situation with my health. The situation was never really solved, because after I had my mammogram and ultrasound I went to see a surgeon who told me "sometimes these things just happen, it was probably just a one time thing and if anything just wait for it to get worse, because I just don't feel comfortable doing a biopsy on someone so young."

I was frustrated because I felt like because of my age, I wasn't taken seriously. My insurance was canceled because I had quit my job a month earlier. So I had to wait until I could get onto Brian's insurance, and he only has open-enrollment once a year. So I had only one choice...wait 6 months, get on Brian's insurance and then get a 2nd opinion....

SIX MONTHS LATER...I still have the problem with my breast and within the last month or so, it has been incredibly tender and painful.

So I have an appointment with the University of Washington in Seattle. It is at their breast clinic at Harborview. It will be reassuring to have people that know what they are doing, helping me. I am just so nervous and frustrated and in pain. :(

But I will hopefully know a diagnosis soon. This whole thing has been so annoying and drawn-out. Six months is a long time to be sick, and not know what is even wrong with you...we are finally at the end. I will be posting more blogs about this, just because this is a good way to vent without whining to other people.

Ready for Christmas...

I am so excited! This is the first year we are able to celebrate christmas in our 4 years of being together! Our first tree is a real one, and super cute. It is my first real tree, and I think it is the first of many. I LOVE IT! It smells so good, and looks much better than a fake. Snow is FINALLY here! We will have a white christmas, afterall. Horray!!

IN OUR PRAYERS...

I found out that my uncle has throat cancer. He will be starting radiation therapy and they are giving him a feeding tube. I am really worried about him. I pray for his strength and endurance. Uncle Fred is the strongest man I have EVER met. He has been so brave through all of this, never complaining or worrying. He tells people that this is just another challenge for him to overcome.

Wow, if only I could have half as much strength as him. He is so inspiring. We love you so much, uncle fred & aunt cathy & Jami, Ryan, and Jesse.

Jami, I know how worried you are about your dad...I have been through this situation and I know exactly how you feel. We are praying for your dad and his speedy recovery.

1st Day of PRESCHOOL!

Today was Emma's 1st day of school. We drove her to the preschool this morning (the bus will usually pick her up, but we needed to finish some paperwork). As soon as the other kids arrived, Emma was gone. Before Brian and I left her, we got to look at her through a one way window/mirror. She didn't even miss us...she was already having a great time jumping on the trampoline and playing with all the fun toys.

Brian and I went out to breakfast...it was very odd without Emma. Everything was so quiet, and really lonely. Brian asked me how I was doing without my baby, and I almost started crying in Fred Meyer. I pulled myself together and I decided that when Emma returned home we would go to yakima and buy her a special treat...her favorite movie 'wow, wow, wubzy'.

I made Brian wait at our drive way with me for 20 minutes...I missed my little girl so much! Finally the bus arrived and Emma was the last kid to get dropped off. She heard me calling her name, and from the inside of the bus you could here 'mommy, mommy, mommy.' It was so cute. She gave me a huge hug and kiss and we were off to Yakima. She was so happy to get her favorite movie, and I was just happy to have her back home. It was only 2 hours, but that has been one of the longest times she has ever been away from me. She is growing up so fast. :(

A Fabulous 3 years!

Emma turned 3 years old today! I can't believe it! We had such a great day today & here is a recap for all of you.

This morning Emma woke us up & we sang the 'Happy Birthday' song. We watched Spongebob Squarepants. Then we drove around town building a charm bracelet. (the chamber of commerce sells the chain for $5 & you get a list of businesses that sell the different charms for $1 each) It was so much fun, it felt like a tresure hunt. Then Emma went to baskin robbins and received her free ice cream cone. Then we saw Santa Clause in a red convertable and he gave Emma a present, which was a puppy...how absolutely perfect! Then we picked up her cake, went home, ate some of the yummy cake. Then we headed out the door to go to the westside. We were surprised to see that there was NO snow on the pass. :( We were a little disappointed, we wanted to play in it. But we also saw an awesome rainbow...I haven't seen a rainbow in years.

Here some of the pictures of the greatest day ever. Hope today was awesome for everyone else!

Horray!

We just returned from the meeting with the school board. Emma was accepted into the developmental preschool. She had low scores in various areas...social, language, speech and behavioral. I think that it is a blessing for her to go to this school. She will make friends, and she gets to ride a bus! We need to go buy her a backpack. She will be starting school on Wednesday! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Her first day of school is in just two days, I am so happy for her. I will have lots of pictures of her first day!

My little girl is growing up so fast.

Silly Husband....

Is it just me or are guys super easy. I have been trying to figure out what Brian would want for Christmas for awhile now. I thought maybe a nice watch, some DVD's he has saved at his store, and a PS3. Well, I finally just asked him "honey, what do you want for christmas?"

His response made me laugh because I thought he was joking. He wants floor mats. lol. All weather floor mats for both cars. That is all he wants, and it is so simple I never would have thought of it.

I will probably get him someother things as well, but it looks like he's getting floor mats for christmas. How do you wrap floor mats?!? hehehe.

Preschool Prep.

For the last few months, I have been taking Emma to countless appointments for her testing. She has been getting tested about twice a week. They test her on her social skills, her language and speech development, her fine and gross motor skills and many other areas. It has been EXHAUSTING.

The reason they have been so extensively testing her is to see if she can qualify for a developmental preschool. It is located at the college, which is only a few blocks away from our apartment. Emma will have qualified teachers working with her that understand her triggers and her delays. She would have other kids her age to play with and all of them are experiencing 2 or more developmental delays. So hopefully Emma will feel like part of the group instead of an outsider.

That is the requirement for the program. A child must be experiencing 2 or more sufficient developmental delays for their age group. Emma has 3. So we pretty much are possitive that she will get into the preschool. We finished yesterday with the last of the testing. On December 1st, we will have a meeting with the school board and the program managers to look over Emma's test scores and see if she does qualify for the program. Her 3rd birthday is the next day. After that she could start preschool as soon as the next few weeks.

She will be gone on tuesdays, wednesdays and fridays from 9am-11am. :( I will miss her so much. But she will be having fun, and I will get some much needed time to myself. That would be nice. :)

I will definately be blogging the outcome of all this. Hopefully she will get into the developmental preschool. It would be really good for her.

sleepy sleepy sleepy

I had a hard time waking up this morning. Mindy and I had SUCH A BUSY day yesterday! We cleaned out their old house & did a dump run & finished packing over the rest of their stuff to their new place. WOW!!! Then we started on their new place, aka the land of boxes. Oh, and everytime I would clean something Emma would follow behind to mess it right up...good job sweetie! ;)

Today, Mindy and I will probably try to move a dog kennel & maybe do another dump run. Then we have to deal with the land of boxes, before Tova brings over all her stuff tomorrow.

This is going to be one long week, and Halloween is on Friday. Wow, a lot to get done. Even though yesterday was EXHAUSTING, it was really fun.

Out with the old...in with the new!

Last night we went over to Mindy & Eric's new place. Super CUTE!!! I love it! I am so happy for them. So we helped them unpack some stuff & went to their old house to move over the last of their things. Today, Mindy and I will be CLEANING their old house. I love to clean, so this will be fun! :) Emma will probably help clean; seeing as she has inherited my 'neat freak' tendencies, hehehe.

Also, on a different note; for all of you whom look at my blog...comment on what you or you're kids are dressing up as for halloween. Emma is going to be a cowgirl. I want to hear back! I know who you people are...hehehe.

Holiday Season...

The air is beginning to become cold and crisp, while the leaves are changing and falling to the ground. I found myself becoming excited a couple weeks ago, when I had to turn the car heater on for the first time. The holiday season on its way.

Halloween is just around the corner...wow, this year really flew by. Emma is going to be a cowgirl. She has a little outfit with boots, and a stick horse. BTW, Emma is horse crazy, if anyone wants to know what to get her for her birthday or Christmas...anything horse related would work.

I am planning on cooking my first Thanksgiving Dinner. I can't wait. Hopefully, my mom and sister will show up. I know Rose will be here. And of course, Brian and Emma. We aren't big meat eaters, but Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without a burnt turkey, lol.

I haven't really felt that 'Christmas spirit' since I was a kid. But for some unexplainable reason; I am super excited for the holidays this year. I don't know; maybe it has to do with the fact that this will be OUR first real Christmas together, technically our 4th, but this year we will get our FIRST EVER CHRISTMAS TREE! I am so excited! We are on a pretty tight budget...seeing as I am a stay-at-home mom now; but we WILL have a tree this year. Our plan last year was to wait until about a week before Christmas to buy our tree (fake one) so that it would be on sale (you can save up to 75%) but we waited too long, and none were left. :( That is not going to happen this year!

I will probably have a Christmas Countdown soon.

4-RUNNER!!!

Rose has been driving around in a car that has slowly been falling apart. Brian and I didn't want her driving around in an unsafe car anymore so we helped her buy this vehicle. Isn't it cute?!? I love it, and it is much safer than her old pile of crap. It is a 2008 Toyota 4-Runner. Rose was so happy when she got her car, she started to cry. :) I love you girly...and you owe us super cool christmas presents for the next 5 years or so...hehehe.

mini-vacation

I just returned from a mini-vaca. Emma & I drove over to the westside and visited with friends and family for almost a week. We spent a couple days at my mom's house (that is where these pics were taken), and then a couple days with Rose. We did a lot of fun things, and we kept busy the entire time. I miss everyone so much; but now since I am a SAHM, I will be able to visit more often, YAY!!!

Pumpkin Carving Fun

We carved pumpkins tonight. It was so much fun! Emma helped by cleaning out the pumpkin guts...she loved it! Brian carved the Angry Kitty pumpkin, and I carved the Trick or Treat pumpkin. I think we did a pretty good job. They look super cool! It really is such a fun activity.
